Being on the Movement Cooperative Board provides you with the opportunity to contribute to the inception, creation, planning, and hosting of movement based opportunities and events for everyone on Indiana University’s campus. Regardless of your position, you will help to make decisions about MoCo’s operations.
As a part of the MoCo Board your mission is to increase dance literacy and provide educational dance experiences in a supportive environment.
We encourage anyone who is interested in becoming involved to apply. You do not have to be studying dance to make a useful contribution to MoCo.
Led by the President, the board has many positions with varying responsibilities, but works as a collective team to bring dance to the IU community. Board members should be dedicated individuals who want to contribute to the goals of the team. Because MoCo hosts events that are open to all of Indiana University, board members are the only registered members of the Movement Cooperative.
All board members must fulfill the following expectations:
All MoCo Board members play a part in furthering MoCo’s mission and maintaining the integrity of the student organization that is The Movement Cooperative at IU.
The MoCo Board is supported by faculty sponsor and Contemporary Dance Professor Selene Carter, who provides guidance and help for the board when wanted/necessary.

is responsible for upholding MoCo’s mission and holding the organization accountable. They are responsible for overseeing all activities, tasks, and interactions of the board. There is no position that the President is not part of. They must be willing to dedicate significant time and effort to the operation of MoCo.

is the President’s second-in-command. They are responsible for assisting the President in upholding MoCo’s mission and holding the organization accountable. Like the President, they must be willing to dedicate significant time and effort to the operation of MoCo.

is the driving force behind the materialization of MoCo‘s mission. They are responsible for bringing MoCo events to life. This position is highly involved with everyone on the board and requires significant collaboration, time commitment, and communication skills.

is responsible for maintaining and growing MoCo’s connections and reach on campus primarily through collaborations with other student organizations. This position works closely with the Event Planning Chair and requires strong communication and networking skills.

is responsible for maintaining MoCo’s finances and coordinating fundraising efforts. MoCo does not operate on a large budget, however, when funds are depleted, it is the Finance Chair’s job to find ways to replace those funds.

is responsible for promoting MoCo’s online presence. They are responsible for advertising future and past events. This position can be expanded into multiple sub-categories (i.e. graphic design, photography, archives).
